Jodie Otten has spent the last year working as a Project Coordinator at Polaris through the Barriers to Entry Program. She gained valuable skills running Portfolio Financial Management for the Technology VP of North American Power Sports. She managed the financial portfolio and provided reporting by creating a financial dashboard through Power BI. Prior to joining the B2E program she had experience working as a Data Analyst in Wayzata Public Schools. Data Analyst – Special Services Student Data Secretary

  • Input, maintain, update, and monitor special education records to verify legal accuracy across multiple systems to ensure that records are in compliance with state and Federal requirements.
  • Administer, support and train staff on SaaS Solution – Ed Plan (Software for tracking Special education students).
  • Develop and maintain specialized reports from the District Student System and the Web based Ed Plan system.
  • Maintain a tracking system for monitoring students who meet state regulatory guidelines.
  • Enter and keep track of service hours for children with disabilities in the district from birth to adulthood for the purpose of reimbursement of state funds to the school district.
  • Processed referrals to District 287 a district which takes students needing specialized care or facilities beyond the capabilities of the Wayzata school district.
  • Enter data and track students needing special accommodations for state testing by entering information into Minnesota Department of Education site and ordering student testing material.
  • Maintain create and manage all transportation requests for Special Services, Homeless, English Learners, Section 504, and Care and Treatment students.
  • Abide by data privacy practices for record retention and handling, ensuring confidentiality of all special education records and materials.
  • Build cooperative relationships with case managers, parents, and various departments within the school district responding to inquiries and providing important compliance information.
