IT Certification Profile: Citrix Certified Professional- Mobility

Bring-your-own-device (BYOD) is continually becoming more widely adopted and accepted in the workplace. However with the popularity of BYOD come concerns for organizations regarding security and cost, among others. To focus on enterprise mobility, and how best to manage the trends that are on track for this area, IT professionals can acquire the skills to design, deploy, and manage the mobile enterprise through the Citrix Certified Professional-Mobility certification. 

According to Citrix, the Citrix Certified Professional-Mobility (CCP-M) provides validation of the skills required to design, deploy, and manage a Citrix XenMobile Enterprise solutions that includes mobile device, management, mobile application management and secure productivity.

Exam and Preparation

  • Pass Exam 1Y0-371 which covers
    • Designing XenMobile 10 enterprise solutions
    • Installing components of XenMobile 10
    • Configuring and integrating components of XenMobile 10
    • Managing and maintaining components of XenMobile 10

Please note that while the 1Y0-370 exam is still available, according to a blog from Exam Collection, the old version of the CCP-M exam will be permanently discontinued on November 15, 2015 due to the launch of a new version of its XenMobile software: 1Y0-371.

Take a look at the article, as it provides some examples of each section covered in the exam. The exam passing score is a 66% which covers the four main topics listed above, and has 67 questions total to be answered in 105 minutes allotted time. There is recommended training available; the CXM-302: Deploy and Manage Citrix XenMobile Enterprise class is a five-day course including the components covered in the Citrix Certified Professional-Mobility exam.  Also, the 1Y0-371 exam preparation guide can be found here. 

The credential is valid for three years, and if new exams are released, credential holders are required to take additional exams in order to continue the validation of the certification.

Salary and Career Opportunities

Citrix holds seven solution-based certifications desired to address the needs of IT professionals and organizations. These credentials are in high demand as knowledge, experience, and delivery is needed in the industry. A 2015 IT Skills and Salary Survey by Global Knowledge and Windows IT Pro shared that the average pay of the seven certifications exceeded $93,000, with the CCP-M average salary noted around $101,266.
