Association awarded with the Community Partner ACHIEVER Award
Minneapolis, MN (June 23, 2015)- Think IT Association was recently honored with the Community Partner ACHIEVER Award at the Genesys Works Breaking Through Ceremony for the association’s contributions in raising funds and awareness for Genesys Works-Twin Cities. For more than 2 years, Think IT has been a community partner to Genesys Works-Twin Cities and, in 2014, alone, Think IT raised nearly $100,000 through a charity golf event and Link to Leadership program which is a leadership development program for IT professionals for which the net proceeds are set aside for a scholarship for Genesys Works alumni.
Richard Walker, Chairman of Think IT, who accepted the award on behalf of Think IT, shared, “We are so honored by this award and feel so fortunate to work with such a wonderful organization. However, none of this would be possible without the generosity and support of our Think IT members and their organizations which have been so willing to contribute to this cause. We are so grateful for them.”
Think IT will continue their partnership with Genesys Works for this year’s 2015 Think IT Charity Golf Invitational on Monday, June 29th at Minneapolis Golf Club. The event currently has sponsors from companies such as 3M, Medtronic, Deluxe Corporation, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota to name a few. “This has become my favorite time of year.” Walker continued, “It is so exciting to see our community of IT leaders come out to raise money and celebrate Genesys Works in such a big way. We raised around $40,000 last year, and I have no doubt that we’re going to top that this year.”
