A direct client of York Solutions is looking for a Lead Systems Administrator for a contract-to-hire opportunity in the Minneapolis, MN area.
Qualifications
- Ability to work weekends and nights 0-1 years
- IT Experience 8-10 years
- VMware 2-4 years
- VMware vSphere certification 0-1 years

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
- Build, deploy, maintain, and life cycle windows servers
- Build, tune, maintain Vmware ESX and Virtual Center infrastructure
- Knowledge of Storage Arrays and Backups (EMC, Netapp, IBM)
- Perform Windows security patching, hardware driver updates, and standard application upgrades
- 3rd level support of server operating systems including Windows Server, ESX, and Linux
- 3rd level support of server hardware including HP, IBM, Blade Centers, and Dell
- Assist with documentation and process improvement

NetApp Storage Engineer
Our client in the Chicago, IL area is seeking to hire a NetApp Storage Engineer for a 6-9 month contract-to-hire role.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain daily operational integrity of the NetApp Storage Area Network systems
- Provide innovative and automated procedures and processes to enhance SAN and backup operations through programming and/or scripting
- Provisioning of new storage capacity and systems
- Respond to incidents and alerts
- Provide out of hours technical support when required
- Participate in the planning, development, and delivery of projects
- Provision of new and updated documentation and knowledge articles
- Manage and maintain the operation of the backup system which is based on Symantec NetBackup and NetApp data protection suites
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in NetApp SAN administration in both 7 and cDot modes and extensive experience of the NetApp snap features
- Experience of administration in VMWare virtualized environments
- Awareness of the ITIL framework and principals
- Experience of security standards and best practices
- Experience of networking fundamentals (Cisco, Riverbed and Bluecoat management would be advantageous)
