Crain’s Chicago Business, partnering with independent research firm Best Companies Group, identified the best 100 local companies to work for based on in-depth surveys. Best Companies Group managed the Best Places to Work In Chicago survey process, which consisted of two steps that gathered detailed information about each company. The first step involved evaluating each participating company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, based on the employer’s questionnaire answers (worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation). The second part consisted of in-depth employee surveys to determine the experiences and attitudes of individual employees toward their workplace (worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation).
The combined scores from both steps determined the 100 best companies and the final ranking.
